Search Engine Optimization – SEO

What exactly are search engines looking for? How can you design your site to satisfy both visitors / consumers, but also Google, Bing and other search engines? And the most important question: how can SEO help you monetize your online presence?

SEO optimization involves customizing the site and changing the content in order to better position it on search engines.

Therefore, site optimization makes changing the content, in order to be more functional, to provide more visitors who will stay longer on the site. SEO is constantly changing according to the requirements / changes dictated by search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing.

These changes are currently happening faster than we would like. For this reason, the term SEO is almost lost from use. It is replaced by the term SEM, short for Search Engine Marketing. SEO or SEM plays the biggest role in optimizing your site.

Organic search engine optimization

S8 Studio deals with organic site optimization, techniques that affect the better placement of your site on organic search results.

Examples of organic site optimization techniques include the use of keywords, keyword and phrase analysis, and backlinking. Link building serves to improve the popularity of the site, as well as writing content relevant to users and visitors of your site.

SEO site optimization is the process of improving the quality and quantity of internet traffic to your site with a series of proven SEO techniques that help your site achieve a better position on major search engines using certain keywords and phrases that users type in the search field.

The moment the search results are displayed, it is certain that you will click on the links on the first page of the results, because they are the most relevant for the term you typed in the search.

The better result of SEO optimization of the site is significantly influenced by the regular maintenance of the site, which means that if you regularly supplement the site with quality content, you will find your site in a better position.

Why is search engine optimization (SEO) important?

Since the advent of the Internet, a great struggle has been waged for its place on the first page of Google.

Statistics say that the average Internet user who searches for a certain term, rarely switches from one page to another. The logical conclusion is that, if you are not on the first page of the organic search, there is little chance that someone will find your site.

On the other hand, your position on the first page on Google search (as the most commonly used), brings you many more potential customers, and therefore higher profits.

How important are keywords to SEO?

In the early days of digital marketing, good SEO site optimization meant: keywords – and lots of them. In an attempt to rank on a search engine results page, SEO experts have written content with a pile of keywords, many times without any sense.

Times have changed. Google now penalizes sites for “keyword accumulation,” which Google describes as “accumulating site content with keywords or numbers in an attempt to manipulate a site’s ranking in Google search results.” Keyword accumulation, Google says, “results in a negative user experience and you can crash the position of your site. “
According to Google, keyword accumulation can take the following forms:

• Long keyword lists without any context or meaning
• Blocks of text that list the cities and countries for which the site is trying to rank
• Repeating the same word or phrase so often that it sounds unnatural

Nowadays, Google ranks sites based on how relevant and valuable they are to visitors, so a site with a keyword list, but without any accompanying content, or with content that is clearly written to use more keywords instead of providing useful information , be penalized by Google.

Keywords are less important to search than they used to be. A study on ranking factors by SEMRush found that keywords are less important than 11 other ranking factors, including site visits, time spent on it, site departure rate, content length.

According to the report, the use of keywords is one of the most popular SEO techniques, but “the presence of keywords in the title, meta description and body of the text proved to be significantly less influential than other factors.”

Effective use of keywords

Keywords are still important, you just need to use them in the right way. According to Google, your goal should be “to focus on creating useful and rich information content that uses keywords appropriately and in context.”

Google is getting better at understanding user intent and measuring the relevance of content, which means it is able to see more of what a user is typing in the search box to understand what they are really looking for, and to display results that meet that need. Therefore, content should be written for the user, not for the keyword.

However, there is still a correlation between full keyword content and search engine rankings. According to a SEMRush report, “over 75% of the sites in the top 20 search results have keywords in their content and over 60% have them in their title.”

So keep those keywords in your content, but make sure they appear in a natural context and that your content provides real value to your site visitors. If you write valuable content that will be useful to readers who come to your site through keyword search, your keywords are likely to have context in your content, and Google will reward you with a higher search rank.
